Update January 2013 the final sum donated in memory of Gethin is £11,215.76
On the 4th February 2012 a presentation was made in memory of Gethin Reeves who sadly died on the 22nd of October 2011at 27 years of age. Gethin had spent weeks at Ty Bryngwyn and was cared for by a team of dedicated, professional and compassionate nurses and doctors.
Friends and family had arranged various fundraising events culminating with an evening at the Black Lion Hotel Llanybydder. £730 had already been donated by the Young Farmers' Club. HSBC Bank donated £500, and Barclays donated £750. There had been a tractor run held at Llanfihangel-ar-arth, 103 tractors turned up to the event, and on the evening at the Black Lion there was a raffle and an auction. The auction was an exciting affair with the rugby ball signed by the Wales National Rugby team, including Shane Williams the record try scorer, going for £400 to John Davies. A cheque for £9,220 was presented to Rev.Jeffrey Morgan, on behalf of the Ty Bryngwyn Fundraising Committe, by Gethin's brother and sister, Gwyn and Gweneira.
The evening and all the considerable fundraising had been arranged and carried out by Tom and Haulwen Lewis, Allan and Mary Davies and son John Davies. They wish to thank all who supported Gethin’s wish to raise money for Ty Bryngwyn and to all that gave so generously.
