Festival of Light Book of Dedication

Llanelli Library Festival of Light Book of DedicationL-R Mark Jewel, Audrey Jenkins, Sue Thomas, David Craddock, Andrew Stephens, Jan Morgan, Brian GouldWith the kind permission of the Chief Librarian, Mark Jewel, The Festival of Light Book of Dedication is now on display in Llanelli Library.

The Festival of Light is an annual event which began in 2000 following an idea received from a lady who had seen this working well in another part of the country. People are able to "buy" a light in memory of a loved one, someone who is ill or just as a gift. The names and dedication are then put into a Book of Dedication which is on public display.

The first Festival took place in 2000 in the Sunken Gardens which are no longer there. In 2001 the Festival moved to the St Elli Centre and has been held there each November ever since.

The aim of the Festival is to raise awareness of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice and its role and to raise funds for its continuing and very valuable work.

The Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Trust and volunteers are passionate and completely dedicated to Ty Bryngwyn Hospice and work hard to ensure the continuing success of its fund-raising activities.
