Llanelli Festival of Light Service of Dedication Monday 14th November 2016 at the St. Elli Centre in Llanelli

Message from the President of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Trust
Huw Edwards

Our hospice movement in the UK continues to provide an essential service to individuals and families facing very difficult times. We live in one of the world's richest countries and I find it difficult to accept that these institutions have to depend so much on public contributions.

But that is the world we live in, and I readily pay tribute to the people of Llanelli for their generosity in supporting the excellent staff and facilities at Ty Bryngwyn.

In my part of South London there is much fund-raising for 2 local hospices, Trinity and St Christopher's.
They share with Ty Bryngwyn a superb approach to end-of-life care, giving people the freedom to make important choices, and supporting them and their loved ones when the challenges of life can seem overwhelming, when 'Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away', as we sang at the Royal Albert Hall in the Remembrance service at the weekend.

I send my best wishes to you all and my sincere thanks again to the staff, officers and trustees of Ty Bryngwyn.

Diolch o galon am eich holl waith caled a gwerthfawr, a phob dymuniad da i bawb ar gyfer y gwasanaeth arbennig heno.
