The Phil Harmonics are more than just a choir - we are a Llanelli-based rock & pop choir whose members love singing and are passionate about raising money for good causes home and away. In the past 18 months, we have gone from strength to strength - entertaining audiences at concerts, charity functions, corporate events, wedding parties and residential care homes, raising thousands of pounds for worthy causes including the Breast Care Unit at Llanelli's Prince Philip Hospital, Mind - the mental health charity, the Ugandan Maternity Project and Llanelli Parkinson’s Society.
We recently supported The Merseybeats and Eurovision Song Contest winners The Brotherhood of Man at the Selwyn Samuel Centre and there was also a memorable appearance alongside Côr Meibion Llanelli at The Ffwrnes Theatre. This year’s Christmas show is nearly here and will be on December17th - along with an exciting invitation to perform at The Mayor's Charity Event - February 4th 2017.
Under the guidance of choirmaster Sarah Mair Richards and musical director Phil Thomas, there are several more charity events in the calendar and plans to expand not only in number but in the range of performances we offer.
On October 11th the choir proudly accepted an invitation from Nia Griffth MP to sing at The House of Commons and just prior to that on October 1st, the choir appeared in Edinburgh following an invitation from the Edinburgh Welsh Society.
The choir intends to launch its very own ‘new version’ of our Welsh national anthem, which is definitely different and upbeat. They are also working towards producing their own CD .
Exciting times ahead for this exceptional inspirational choir.
