Treasured Rolex Watch for Sale to Raise Funds for Ty Bryngwyn Hospice
A Llanelli family has decided to sell a treasured Rolex watch in order to raise funds for Llanelli’s Ty Bryngwyn Hospice.
Martin Morris sadly passed away in the summer after a long and fearless fight against prostate cancer. The final weeks of his life were spent initially at Prince Phillip Hospital and eventually under the exceptional care of Dr Helen Fielding and her team at Ty Bryngwyn Hospice.
The watch that Martin wore and enjoyed for many years has now been sold on eBay by his family.
Martin’s wife of over 50 years, Ann, said the gesture would have been approved of by her late husband.
“Martin loved Llanelli and devoted much of his life to the benefit of the town. He was a County Councillor for almost 30 years, and always had the best interests of Llanelli and its people at heart.
One of the many events he was privileged to attend was the original opening of Ty Bryngwyn.
As a family we are still devastated at the loss of Martin, but would like to think that the proceeds from his watch will go towards helping the people of Llanelli.
The staff in Prince Philip Hospital and Ty Bryngwyn were incredibly caring and kind to both Martin and the family. We will be forever grateful for the care we received.
Ty Bryngwyn relies on donations to provide the care and support that patients and families need, and we genuinely believe that the Hospice and the staff are jewels in Llanelli’s crown.”
The Rolex has now been sold (Dec. 21 2019) and all proceeds of £2500.00 plus Gift Aid of £625.00 totalling £3125.00, have been donated to the Hospice Appeal Fund.
