Michael Anderson - 70 Mile Merlin Cycle Ride
On 30th June 2013, Michael Anderson, Ambulance Liaison Officer at Prince Philip Hospital completed the 70 Mile Merlin Cycle Ride from the Botanical Gardens, Llanarthe, heading to the Black Mountains, over to Llangadog along the Cothi trail and ending at the Botanical Gardens. He raised £160 for Ty Bryngwyn Hospice. Thank you Michael for this magnificent effort.
Visit by Lord Howard
On 2nd September, The Rt Hon The Lord Howard of Lympne (Michael Howard) was warmly welcomed at Ty Bryngwyn Hospice. Lord Howard, who is Chairman of Help the Hospices, planted an ornamental tree to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the In Patient Unit.
Llanelli Star Community Awards - Friday 6th September 2013
Mr Lionel Coulson,78, a volunteer driver, received the Good Neighbour/Volunteer Award thanks to his dedication in providing essential transport links to hospitals throughout Carmarthenshire including patients between Ty Cymorth and Ty Bryngwyn Hospice.
Charity Concert, Memorial Hall, Burry Port - 27th March 2013
At Ty Bryngwyn Hospice on 19th September, the past Mayor of Pembrey and Burry Port ( Cllr Mary Wenman) presented a cheque for £800.00 to Hospice Committee Members.
Radio Carmarthenshire & Scarlet FM - 2013 Local Hero Awards
Members of the Hospice Committee attended the above event on Friday 4th October. Ty Bryngwyn had been chosen as the Charity for the Night and £800 was raised.
Ty Bryngwyn Hospice 10 Year Anniversary Celebration
On Saturday, 12th October from 2pm – 4pm Ty Bryngwyn opened its doors to say thank you for a decade of loyal support. The Palliative Care Unit celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a special Open Day. The event was opened by Garry Owen, BBC Wales, with entertainment provided by Cor Meibion Llanelli.
