CHEQUE PRESENTATION – ARUMBA LLANGENNECH EXERCISE DANCE CLASS

On Monday 20 November 2023 in the foyer of Prince Philip Hospital Mrs Vicky Garfoot presented Susan Thomas with a cheque for £130.00. Nia Gibbs, who founded and runs the class, organises charity events and has recently raised £130 and donated the proceeds to Ty Bryngwyn Hospice. This was a thank you and in recognition of the wonderful Palliative Care given to Vicky’s brother Ginge in his final days.

SEASIDE SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB – DONATION

On 2 November 2023 the Seaside Sports & Social Club members warmly welcomed Mr David Craddock, Chairman Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Fundraisers, Trustees and volunteers from the Fundraising Committee, to the Seaside Sports & Social Club. A cheque for £500 was presented to Mr Craddock being monies raised from a coffee morning.

Grateful thanks and appreciation was extended for this generous donation and for the support given to Ty Bryngwyn Hospice.

IRONMAN WALES – VOLUNTEERING – SUNDAY 3 SEPTEMBER 2023

Members of Llanelli Athletics Club and Llanelli Striders spent the day
volunteering at the Iron Man Wales in Tenby.

The group were manning the “Personal Needs” station on the 26.2 mile
marathon course which consisted of 4 laps around Tenby and surrounding countryside.
They started at 1030am by sorting out nearly 2,000 of the athlete’s
personal needs bags that had been prepared in advance.
Then after a short break to get refreshments the first of the 1,941
runners who completed the 140.6 mile course starting to run their way.

It all finished just before midnight – an exhausting day but nothing
compared to those who took part.

For volunteering the group received £300 which was split between
Llanelli Athletics Club and Ty Bryngwyn Hospice.

Trustee & Vice Chairman of TBH Cllr Andrew Stephens who was one of the
volunteers said, “It was a great day full of inspirational athletes
from all over the world including many from Llanelli taking on one of the
UK’s toughest Ironman courses”.

Cllr Stephens thanked Craig Kearney Vice Chairman of Llanelli Athletics
Club for organising the day and for choosing TBH to share the
donation.

DYFED MENSWEAR DONATION – FESTIVAL OF LIGHT BANNERS

Mr John Williams and Steve of Dyfed Menswear, Gorslas, Llanelli presented 3 banners for the Festival of Light event which they had produced free of charge. These banners will be used this year and in the years ahead to promote this very important annual event in our fundraising calendar.

CHEQUE PRESENTATION IN MEMORY OF MR ROBERT JOHN CONNERS

On 18 August 2023 in the garden of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice the family of Mr Robert John Conners presented a cheque for £2,300.00. Members of the family took on the challenge of scaling Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales, 10 times in 12 hours to raise funds for Ty Bryngwyn Hospice. This is in addition to the £1,100 received in donations. Gifts made in memory are very special and deeply appreciated and our grateful thanks go to all those who contributed so generously.

COR MEIBION LLANELLI – CHEQUE PRESENTATION

Cor Meibion Llanelli was formed in the village of Bynea in 1964. This highly-respected and renowned choir was forced to disband because of falling numbers and decided to donate its remaining funds to good causes in the local area.

On 27 July 2023, in the gardens of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice, Mr Byron Thomas, Founder Member of Cor Meibion Llanelli, presented a cheque for £2,000 to Mr David Craddock, Chairman of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Committee and Cllr Andrew Stephens, Vice Chairman.

CARDS R US – LLANELLI MARKET

On 25 July 2023 Mr Darren Aubrey, proprietor of Cards R Us, presented a cheque for £1,350.00 to Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Fundraisers being monies donated by his customers.

LLANELLI RURAL COUNCIL CIVIC CEREMONY – SUNDAY 16 JULY 2023

Members of the Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Committee were honoured to be invited to the Civic Ceremony of Chairman Cllr Sue Phillips at Greenfield Baptist Chapel, Llanelli. A very memorable service led by the by the Rev David Jones with contributions from the Greenfield Chapel Choir, Meibion Elli, Sam Morris and Catrin Hughes. This was followed by an excellent lunch at the Diplomat Hotel. Ty Bryngwyn Hospice is one of the charities selected by Cllr Phillips during her year of office and are very grateful indeed for her support.
