CARMARTHENSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL CHEQUE PRESENTATION – 17 APRIL 2024 – CHAIRS ROOM, TOWN HALL, LLANELLI

The Chair of Carmarthenshire County Council, Cllr Louvain Roberts, presented Cllr Andrew Stephens, Trustee and Vice Chairman of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice, a cheque for £2,000 raised from fundraising during her year of office.

Cllr Roberts raised a total of £6,000 and this was divided between her three chosen charities namely Ty Bryngwyn Hospice, Llanelli First Responders and St Paul’s Family Centre.

LLANELLI RURAL COUNCIL – CHAIRMAN’S FUNDRAISING MUSICAL EXTRAVAGANZA EVENING – FELINFOEL RUGBY CLUB, DAFEN, LLANELLI – 12 APRIL 2024

An excellent evening was held at The Foel for the Chairman’s Charity Fundraising Musical Extravaganza Evening where monies were raised for the Chairman’s chosen charities – Ty Bryngwyn Hospice and The Phil Bennett Foundation. First class entertainment by Samuel Wyn-Morris and Lauren Fisher was received enthusiastically by those present. Cllr Sue Phillips advised that over £2K has been raised for her chosen charities.

On 3 May 2024 Cllr Susan Phillips and her Consort, Cllr Andrew Stephens were delighted to present each of her chosen charities a cheque for £1,500.00 each following her year in office as Chairman of Llanelli Rural Council. With great pride the Chairman said she was able to present these monies to the two local charities that are close to her heart. She thanked all those who had supported her fundraising event and all those who have supported her during her year of office.

CARMARTHENSHIRE INNER WHEEL – PRESENTATION IVY BUSH HOTEL, CARMARTHEN – 19 FEBRUARY 2024

On 19 February 2024 Susan Thomas, Secretary and Trustee Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Trust, gave a presentation to members of Carmarthenshire Inner Wheel. This was received positively by those present and gave a flavour of the history of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice, its fundraising efforts and future objectives. Mr Mike Evans organised the excellent Power Point Presentation which ran alongside the talk.

At the end of the presentation a £100 donation was presented to Susan Thomas. Thanks were extended to the President, Mrs Nancy Evans, and her members for their generous support.

2023 ACTIF CARMARTHENSHIRE SPORTS AWARDS – 22 FEBRUARY 2024

2023 ACTIF CARMARTHENSHIRE SPORTS AWARDS
22 FEBRUARY 2024 – THEATR Y FFWRNES, LLANELLI

On 22 February 2024 Mr David Craddock, Chairman and Trustee, and Cllr Andrew Stephens, Vice Chairman and Trustee of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Trust, were invited to attend the 2023 Actif Carmarthenshire Sports Awards event. Ty Bryngwyn Hospice had been selected as one of the charities for the evening along with Llanelli First Responders and St Pauls Family Centre. A total of £819 was raised from the raffle and Mr Craddock and Cllr Stephens gratefully received their share of the proceeds totalling £273.00.

The awards are an opportunity to recognise and reward sports people and teams who have made a positive difference and shown outstanding achievements whether it be as an athlete, coach, volunteer or sport team.

Mr Craddock and Cllr Stephens were honoured to attend this splendid occasion and to be made aware of the marvellous sports people we have in Llanelli and throughout Carmarthenshire many of whom face difficulties in their own personal lives and yet strive to overcome these and unselfishly help many others to achieve so much.

YSGOL MAES Y GWENDRAETH, CEFNEITHIN, LLANELLI

On 6 February 2024 Mr Mike Evans, Member of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Fundraising Committee, accepted a cheque for £225.94 from pupils of Ysgol Maes Y Gwendraeth. This donation had been raised from a Christmas Jumper Day at the end of last term. Last year we received a cheque for 267.27 from a Colourful Clothing Day. Our grateful thanks go to the pupils and Mr A Thomas, Pennaeth for this generous support.

CLAIRE’S FLOWERS 4 ALL OCCASIONS

Congratulations to Claire’s Flowers for winning the public vote in the best Christmas Window Display in the 2023 Llanelli Chamber of Trade and Commerce Christmas competition.

Claire’s Flowers’ nominated charity is Ty Bryngwyn Llanelli Hospice and Claire has kindly donated her prize money of £50 to Ty Bryngwyn.
Our grateful thanks to her also for the loan of table runners for the TBG 20th Anniversary Celebration Dinner in October 2023 and for her continuing support which is so appreciated.

QUIZ TRALLWM AREA COMMUNITY HALL – 18 DECEMBER 2023

On 18 December 2023 a quiz organised by Steve Donoghue, Secretary Trawllm Area Community Hall, in support of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Appeal Fund raised £105.00. It was an evening full of festive cheer along with mince pies and snacks.

TY BRYNGWYN HOSPICE TRUST CHRISTMAS DINNER

DIPLOMAT HOTEL, LLANELLI – 7 DECEMBER 2023

Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Trustees and Members joined together for their annual Christmas Dinner at the Diplomat Hotel.

It was a very enjoyable and festive event and during the proceedings the donation from Greenfield Chapel, Llanelli was acknowledged with a cheque presentation for £2,200.00. Our grateful thanks go to the Rev David Jones and to all those who contributed so generously not just for this year but for all the support they have given us over many years. Final total received from Greenfield Chapel for 2023 – £3442.02

Mr David Craddock, Chairman and Trustee, thanked members for all their hard work and dedication throughout the year. He then gave especial thanks to Mrs Dorothy Crombie who had joined the Committee in 2019 and is leaving to go back to Sunderland. He wished her well and thanked her for all she has done during her time with us which has been greatly appreciated by all her friends on the Committee. She will be greatly missed.

He ended by wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.
