 On 24th January 2017 a cheque for £1,300 was presented to members of the Hospice Committee.  Included in this was a contribution of £350 from Thomas Morgan Undertakers

Carmarthen Golf Club – Presentation
On 25th January 2017 a cheque for £1,500 was presented to members of the Hospice Committee

Llanelli Rural Council Chairman’s Carvery Night & Curry Night (Sultan’s)
On 9th February 2017 at Jollies and 7th March 2017 at The Sultan a total of £2,218 was raised in aid of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice

The Red Lion Inn, Pembrey
On 18th February 2017 members of the Hospice Committee accepted a cheque for £500 plus £22.50 donated by the winners of the Quiz

Ruby’s Bar & Brasserie
On 28th February 2017 members of the Hospice Committee accepted a cheque for £400

Burry Port & Pembrey Cymrodorion Society
On 5th March 2017 the Society organised a Gymanfa Ganu at Jerusalem Chapel.  The collection raised £187 for Ty Bryngwyn Hospice

Daffodil Fayre – 9th March 2017
A very successful event held at the Thomas Arms Hotel, Llanelli where almost £900 was raised for Ty Bryngwyn Hospice

Cor Curiad Quiz Night – 17th March 2017
Cor Curiad raised over £400 at the above event held at the White Lion, Felinfoel

Dawn Meats – Crosshands
A raffle was held and with money contributed from the Company a total of £432.87 was raised for

Claire’s Flowers – Llanelli Chamber of Trade & Commerce Window Competition
Claire’s Flowers won a prize for the best dressed Christmas window and nominated Ty Bryngwyn Hospice as their charity to receive the prize money of £50

Ty Bryngwyn Hospice has been selected by the Charity Committee to receive an award of £1,000

A donation of £818.22 has been received from Mr Morgan and includes donations from the New Drovers Public House, Best Electrical Supplies, Ejs Cafe Bar & Restaurant, Mike Rickwood & Sons and Thomas Street Dental Surgery

Trinity Methodist Church, Kidwelly
A donation for £421.50 has been raised over the Christmas period from various events in aid of Ty Bryngwyn

A total of £957.72 was raised at the above event

Tuesday 25 April 2017 Carms. County Council Presentation, Chairman’s Room, Town Hall, Llanelli

A cheque for £3,021 was presented to the Hospice Committee being monies raised during Cllr Eryl Morgan’s year in office.  Since then a further donation of £63.50 has been received

Slater’s Menswear – £100 vouchers received 2016

£2,000 was raised at a Charity/Curry Auction night which included the Slater’s vouchers. Slater’s policy is to donate a percentage of their profits to local charities

10 May 2017 Llanelli Rural Council Presentation

Cllr Steve Donoghue, Chairman Llanelli Rural Council, presented a cheque for ££2,050 raised from charity events he organised during his year of office

June 2017 Phil Harmonics Charity Night Stradey Park Hotel

Mr David Craddock (Chairman) and Mrs Susan Thomas (Secretary) gave an overview of the Hospice at the above event.  The Phil Harmonics have announced that Ty Bryngwyn Hospice is their chosen charity for 2017

Sunday 2 July 2017 Llanelli Rural Council Civic Service

Mrs Iris Hughes represented the Hospice Committee at the Civic Service for the Council’s Chairman, Cllr H J Evans to the Civic Service held at Felinfoel Church.

Friday 7 July 2017 Radio Carmarthenshire Local Hero Awards

Mr David Craddock (Chairman) and Mr Andrew Stephens (Vice Chairman) attended the above event at Parc y Scarlets.  Ty Bryngwyn Hospice had been nominated as Radio Carmarthenshire’s Charity of the Year and a cheque for £761 was presented. Carmarthen Round Table also attended and presented an additional £500.00.

Sunday 9 July 2017 Llanelli Town Council Civic Service

Mrs Susan Thomas and Mrs Iris Hughes represented the Hospice Committee at the annual civic service for the Town Mayor, Cllr Jeff Edmunds at the Parish Church, Llanelli

Swansea Indoor Bowls Club

In May 2016 Swansea Indoor Bowls Club selected Ty Bryngwyn Hospice as their Charity of the Year and donated £1,428.23.

Cor Curiad Annual Concert – 2 September 2017

Cor Curiad aimed to raise £20,000 over a 2 year period of fundraising.  They exceeded this amount and presented £30,000 to Mr David Craddock, Chairman of the Hospice Committee

Jennings Solicitors, Llanelli

Jennings Solicitors held a Charity Wills Week in March and a raffle.  A total of £378 was donated to Ty Bryngwyn Hospice

Mrs Helen Morgan, Swansea Half Marathon

Mrs Helen Morgan completed the Swansea Half Marathon and raised £1004.50 via Virgin Money Giving plus £143 in off line donations in memory of her father.

Lady Mary Mansel Lewis ~ Former President of the Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Trust

Sad news has been received that Lady Mary Mansel-Lewis died peacefully on 7 September 2017.  A memorial service is to be held on 16 October 2017 at Llanelli Parish Church.

Mr Marlston Morgan’s Collection Boxes the New Drovers Public House, Thomas Street

The New Drovers have designed a poster informing customers how much has been raised with Mal’s Little Red Charity Boxes’.  Since 2014, £3,114.64 has been collected

Carmarthenshire Young Achiever Awards 20 October 2017

Mrs Anita Roberts and Mrs Iris Hughes represented the Hospice Committee at the above awards ceremony and accepted a donation of £547.50.

Charity Buffet ~ Llanelli Town Mayor (Cllr Jeff Edmunds) – 9 November 2017

Members of the Hospice Committee attended this very enjoyable event.  Proceeds raised will go to the Town Mayor’s charities i.e. Ty Bryngwyn Hospice and the Teenage Cancer Trust

Fundraising Event ~The Angel, Llandeilo 11 November 2017

The above event was a great success and the song released by Ben Fernihough (in memory of his father Dave) is selling well with all proceeds to go to the Hospice.  A link to the song has been placed on the Ty Bryngwyn website

Festival of Light 2017 ~ 13 November 2017

The Festival of Light Service of Dedication attracted hundreds of people again this year and raised a great deal of money for Ty Bryngwyn Hospice.

Ty Cymorth ~ Their Light Still Shines 19 November 2017

Several members of the Committee attended this very moving and well attended event at the National Botanical Garden of Wales.

The Team organised a charity event to raise money for the Hospice and presented £880.00

Diane Henry ~ Barclays Bank Llanelli

Diane has now completed her charity fundraising for Ty Bryngwyn – 5 marathons for her 50th birthday – and presented £1,563.26 to the Hospice Committee

Mr Robert Davies, Director, Just Wales Ltd

Mr Robert Davies, Director, completed the Cardiff Half Marathon in aid of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice and Ty Cymorth.  A donation of £1,030 received by Ty Bryngwyn.

Llanelli Crematorium – Advent Memorial Service ~ 6 and 13 December 2017

At the above service Mr David Craddock (Chairman) accepted a cheque for £3,629.05 from Assistant Manager Claire. On 13 December a further cheque for £3,174.95 was presented to Mrs Susan Thomas by Mr Kevin Davies, Superintendent.  These monies have been raised from the recycling scheme and Mr Davies particularly wished to support a local and very worthwhile charity.

The Philharmonics Rock and Pop Choir 10 December 2017

Mrs Audrey Jenkins, Mrs Iris Hughes and Mr Brian Gould were given a very warm welcome at the Stradey Park Hotel and were presented with a cheque for £1,500.  The Philharmonics selected Ty Bryngwyn Hospice as their 2017 Charity of the Year and raised a total of £1,700.00.

Plaid Cymru presented a donation of £150 to Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Committee adding that they were very pleased to show their support for such a treasured facility
