Congratulations to Mrs Audrey Jenkins who was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship Award at the Llanelli Rotary Club Dinner at the Diplomat Hotel, Llanelli on 24 June 2026.
This prestigious award, given by Rotary Clubs to recognise individuals who have made outstanding contributions to their communities or to Rotary ideals, acknowledges exceptional service and dedication to the principles of Rotary. A Paul Harris Fellow is one of the highest honours bestowed on an individual and is given to Rotarians and non-Rotarians alike who demonstrate the high professionalism and personal standards that exemplify the motto “Service Above Self”.

TY BRYNGWYN HOSPICE TRUST
Mrs Audrey Jenkins has been a member of the Tŷ Bryngwyn Hospice Trust Fundraising Committee for around 30 years and is a Trustee and Events Co-ordinator. In this role, along with her faithful team of helpers, she organises events such as the annual Festival of Light, now in its 26th year, the annual Daffodil Fayre, coffee mornings and many other fundraising events. She also oversees a table in Prince Philip Hospital used for the selling of Hospice wares and is in charge of the stock and money in liaison with the Treasurer.
The Tŷ Bryngwyn Hospice Trust and Fundraising Committee was formed in 1986 as a result of the vision of the late Mr Thomas Lewis MBE, a local business man who had visited a friend in Tŷ Olwen, Morriston Hospital and was moved to found one in Llanelli. An Appeal Committee was formed and was very busy fundraising and planning events and, with people such as Audrey who joined in the early days and who is a leading light, is still as valuable and vital today.
Audrey became involved with the Tŷ Bryngwyn Hospice Trust Fundraising Committee after the death of her husband David, and has worked tirelessly for the benefit of the Hospice. Her commitment never diminishes and she is an inspiration to all with whom she comes into contact. She is well known and highly respected in the town and even when she became extremely ill a few years ago and had to be flown home by air ambulance from Spain her team of helpers carried on her good work with her verbal guidance until she was able to resume her duties. Recently she underwent a knee replacement operation and was itching to get back as soon as she had fully recovered.
Recognition for the wonderful work she has done, and is still doing, would be well-deserved and a wonderful gift for this extraordinary lady.
In 2011 Audrey accepted an invitation to a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace
In 2014 Audrey received an award from the Llanelli Star Community Awards in recognition of her dedication and hard work.
