DR CONSTANCE ADA MARY LLEWELLYN-MORGAN MBE 1923-2023

The Trustees and Members of the Appeal Fund were saddened to hear that on 10 January 2023 Dr Mary Llewellyn-Morgan, former Chairman and Trustee of Ty Bryngwyn Hospice Trust passed away at the age of 99 years. Since the founding meeting in 1985 Dr Mary, along with a small committee and others, was heavily involved in planning ways to raise the funds needed. She became a Trustee in February 1995, Vice Chair in April 1999 and Chair in October 1999. We cannot speak too highly of Dr Mary’s attributes in particular her hard work and dedication in respect of her ultimate aim to equip and build a Hospice in Llanelli for the benefit of those in need. In 2010 she was pleased and honoured to receive an MBE for the part she played in that achievement after which she retired to be near her family in the Vale of Glamorgan.

Ty Bryngwyn Hospice is now a Centre of Excellence due in no small part to her valued contribution. Dr Mary was an inspirational and highly respected lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
